Combine leadership, event planning, marketing and more with a love of anthropology. We are looking for applicants for the following positions:


President

Requirements: Must be at least 2A, must be on campus for the fall and winter terms.

The President of the society is the official representative of their society and is responsible for the administration and actions of their society. The President is to conduct the office in the best interest of the society and be accessible to members at regular and reasonable hours. The President will delegate responsibilities for general meetings and be responsible for the formalities therein. The President must respond to member inquiries relating to constitutional, diplomatic, and parliamentary procedures and the inquiries of members to factual information relating to the society. The President must authenticate by signature all acts, including financial orders and proceedings of the society. All cheque writing and budget balances or changes will be double endorsed with the Vice President Finance. The President will be responsible for handling all member grievances, concerns, and issues relating to the society.


Vice President of Internal Affairs

Requirements: None.

The VP Internal shall assign tasks to members of the society and record meeting minutes. They are required to attend all executive meetings, council meetings, and ASU council meetings and are responsible for overseeing email communications going in and out of the society and proofing documents and emails coming from the society. As the organizational mastermind, the VP Internal makes sure that all members are able to complete tasks and society initiatives with the most clarity and best communication. They ensure the cooperation of members and keep clear records for the following administrations.


Vice President of Academics

Requirements: None.

The Vice President Academics is responsible for representing the academic and cooperative education interests of the students within the anthropology department. They manage all resources relating to present and post educational pathways within the University of Waterloo and answer all inquiries therein.


Vice President of Communications

Requirements: None.

The Office of communications is responsible for organizing and relaying all information regarding the action of the society. Much of the work of the Vice President

Communications is in engaging and best representing the body of undergraduate anthropology students in the activity of the society through presentations, authored publications, and society statements.


Vice President of Creative

Requirements: Familiarity with at least one creative design software.

The Vice President Creative is responsible for handling all social media marketing of society events. They create all promotional material for society events and social media. In this office, the VP Creative is responsible for the public face of the society and the relaying of pertinent information to the masses through social platforms. This position requires a significant amount of artistic talent in its requirement to produce content.


Vice President of Events

Requirements: None.

The Vice President Events is responsible for coordinating society led events in the following stages: Facilitating resources for events, overseeing outcomes, and working to create a memorable environment for students in the department. The office of Events works in conjunction with the office of communications to create, plan, and execute that interest, support, and educate students within the department of Anthropology at UWaterloo.


Vice President Finance

Requirements: None.

The Anthropology Society office of Finance is responsible for the spending of the society and keeping accurate and complete records of all financial transactions. The VP of Finance also works with the ASU for budgets, reimbursements, and other financial documents. ​ As society treasurer, this position sets realistic expectations in which the other working parts of the society can plan and execute initiatives.
