Course Description

ANTH 305 is an introduction to the various pathological conditions that can be identified and studies through human skeletal remains.  The course looks at the epidemiology of pathologies, including infectious disease, developmental disease, cancers and other neoplasms, dental disease, trauma, and other pathologies. It examines the social and environmental contexts in which disease develops, spreads, and becomes widespread and pandemic or endemic, and human responses to the stress of disease.
