ANTH 289 - Special Topics in Anthropology

Winter 2020 - ANTH 289 - Dr. Laura Bolt  (Primate Behaviour)

Analysis of a special topic in anthropology, as announced by the department. This was a special topics course called ‘Primate Behaviour’. 

Brief Description of Course  

This course will introduce you to the behaviour and ecology of non-human primates including lemurs, lorises, pottos, galagos, tarsiers, monkeys, and apes. You will gain experiential knowledge of field research techniques used to study primate behaviour in the wild, take an in- depth look at conservation threats faced by primates worldwide, and gain a better understanding of human adaptations by learning more about our closest living relatives. Topics presented in lectures will be reinforced by course readings and films.
